Successful participation in SMAGUA 2025: Smart cities, strong solutions! #SmartWater
ZENNER España looks back on a successful participation at SMAGUA 2025 in Zaragoza. With a broad portfolio of digital measurement technology for the water industry and the ‘parallel radio’ innovation, ZENNER España’s team attracted numerous visitors to its stand.
From 4 to 6 March 2025, we were an exhibitor at SMAGUA in Zaragoza – one of the leading international trade fairs for water and irrigation technologies. This year, the trade fair celebrated its 50th anniversary.
ZENNER itself can also look back on an anniversary: last year, the company celebrated 100 years of producing its own water meters and has been contributing a wealth of experience and innovations to the market ever since it was founded.
Digital solutions for water suppliers
Water meters for maximum precision
The focus of our trade fair appearance was the new generation of the IUWS ultrasonic domestic water meter with parallel radio function. This innovation makes it possible to transmit measurement data simultaneously via the two radio technologies Wireless M-Bus (WM-Bus) and LoRaWAN®. Regardless of the radio technology used, parallel radio guarantees future-proof, seamless integration into existing and new data acquisition systems.
In addition, this function provides water suppliers with a reliable fallback level and enables efficient and secure data collection even in areas with limited network coverage.

Configure ultrasonic water meters efficiently
Another highlight for the digitalisation of the water industry is the mobile application ZENNER Device Manager Basic. The app sets new standards in the configuration and customisation of meters and offers utilities an indispensable tool for configuring ultrasonic water meters from the IUWS series efficiently and flexibly.
ZENNER Device Manager Basic enables easy activation and customisation of the parallel radio functions to ensure reliable data collection even in areas with limited LoRa network coverage.
Water meters for smart applications
In addition to the IUWS, ZENNER España also presented the IUW ultrasonic water meter for high flow rates. The meter is used to record high and fluctuating flow rates in drinking water supply and industry with very low pressure loss. It is factory-equipped with an NFC interface for use with Wireless M-Bus or LoRaWAN® radio communication modules – for many intelligent applications such as leak detection or remote meter reading in manholes.
