Initial situation: the building sector is the largest CO2 emitter in Germany

Currently, only about 25% of buildings in Germany can be classified as sustainable. Existing buildings should become climate-neutral by 2045. New laws and regulations, such as the amendment to the Heating Costs (HKVO) Ordinance and the EU taxonomy, show how the issue of consumption transparency is coming into focus. Sustainable digitization of buildings is therefore necessary.

With digital solutions from ZENNER, measurement data can be transmitted safely and reliably via the LoRaWAN® radio network. Energy consumption and costs become transparent thanks to the smart readout. Submetering with LoRaWAN® helps to save energy. In this way, the requirements of HKVO-compliant implementation of remote readout of consumption data and other smart sensors in the building can be met. Submetering with LoRaWAN® is an optimal entry point into digital building management for many municipal utilities and energy suppliers – and thus for a sustainable future.

Electronically reading the heating energy consumption of individual buildings remotely is currently one of the most exciting topics in the digitization process of the energy transition.
